February, 2019 has been a month for the record books. From the record low temps in the negative FORTIES to the melt days later creating a crazy amount of ice, to the 3 gigantic snow storms we got IN A ROW just days after the crazy low temps…Ok, mother nature, we get it, you wanted Rachel and Austin’s engagement session to be every bit of magical it could be. The way that the snow stuck to the trees, the pure white covering the ground (and 18 inches beyond lol) and the snow softly falling was nothing short of a wonderland! I had stumbled upon the perfect little creek this past summer just out walking some trails and was floored at the untouched beauty of the area. As soon as I saw it, I knew this area was meant for an amazing session. I was so excited when Rachel and Austin told me they chose this location. Getting out to the creek required about a quarter mile’s walk in 18 inch deep snow while carrying enough gear to camp overnight lol. These two are obviously younger and in better shape than me as I was the only one huffing and puffing! At least I can say that we were all warm enough to shed our jackets once we got to the creek without any complaint! I am so happy with how this session turned out and I don’t think it could have gotten any better. The chemistry between Rachel and Austin is precious and they make the best match. Their happy, optimistic and fun personalities transfer into their relationship and capturing that as a photographer is so rewarding. I cannot wait for their upcoming wedding day as I know it’s going to be a day to remember!Makeup by Alyssa Brandt Makeup Artist
